The 33rd Bi-Annual Conference carries the theme "Critical Thinkers, Readers, and Viewers: Revitalizing the Language Classroom Through Mass Media"

Keynote Speaker, SHEILA S. CORONEL (Executive Director, Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism), shares her ideas in a talk entitled "THINKING CRITICALLY ABOUT THE MEDIA: THE POLITICAL ECONOMY OF THE MASS MEDIA AND THE MANUFACTURE OF MEANING."

Parallel Workshops facilitated by English teachers from Ateneo de Manila University and Xavier School follow the keynote address. These whole-day workshops will demonstrate how grade school, high school and college English teachers can use mass media texts such as news stories, print ads, film, the Internet, and other authentic materials as pedagogical tools and allow learners to interact more meaningfully with them.
