December 26: Soul Food --

One of my favorite meals would have to be the binyag lunch for M's son -- it wasn't so much the food (but the food was amazing!) but the spirit of the day. Their whole family was there and you could feel the warmth of their relationship.

(It goes to show that you don't have to do everything over the top to make an event meaningful.)

My food discovery for the year would have to be yangnyeoum chicken. It is delicious and memorable. It's hot enough to make your lips tingle but not too hot that it makes you cry. The texture is a mix of crunch and gooeyness (from the chili sauce) --
